Custom WordPress theme design & development.

Project description

I built this site for a good friend of mine who is incredibly skilled with a camera. She wanted a website that serves as a place where she can write, explore and experiment with photography and everything in between.

Solutions

  • A fun, highly-textured design. Vintage paper, clouds and birds create a fun, whimsical scene.
  • If the website is viewed during the evening hours, the header graphic changes to a whimsy night scene.
  • A fun parallax effect is used on the header to make the clouds scroll horizontally when the mouse moves over them. The night scene also has a fun parallax effect (stars instead of clouds).
  • WordPress as a content management system. WordPress provides the flexibility to provide the simplicity, with room for future expansion if needed. A few plugins were utilized to provide front-end editing, a contact form and enhanced SEO optimization.
  • Thumnails for up to three featured posts will appear in the header as “hanging photos”.
